Joanna Hogan is a strategic fundraising coach and dynamic educator who helps fundraising professionals achieve extraordinary results by transforming their viewpoint and approach.
Joanna's philosophy is centered on the principle of abundance rather than scarcity. It is easy for fundraisers to believe that there's not enough money to go around, and everyone is competing for the same dollars. Joanna believes not that there's a shortage of dollars, but instead that there is a shortage of effective fundraisers! Working from that viewpoint, she empowers nonprofit leaders with the skills to both listen effectively to donor dreams, and then relate a compelling story that meshes with those dreams. In the process, both her clients and their prospects become connected to a mutual purpose and common goals. With Joanna's step-by-step coaching and advice, even the newest fundraisers can conquer self doubt and fear to successfully engage in their organization's mission.
Joanna has achieved remarkable fundraising success during her more than two decades of practical experience. She led a $7.5M advancement campaign as Vice President of the Clark Foundation. Prior to that, Joanna provided essential leadership to the development team that raised $90M for the Michigan State University Secchia Center campaign. She has also demonstrated a unique and effective approach to sponsor cultivation in support of numerous organizations and programs.
Joanna's practical and refreshing approach includes the latest strategies and best practices, along with steadfast support and encouragement. Through her knowledge and coaching skills, she brings out the best in people and helps them discover the joy of philanthropy.
